DESCRIPTION: Jasper Johal has been traveling and photographing sacred places for two decades. These fine art photography prints are made from images in his archives.
In this image he captures the luminous second Divan Sahib at the Harmandir Sahib Sikh temple in Amritsar, India. Here we see a Granthi engaged in recitation from the handwritten copy of the Guru Granth Sahib that is installed in this space, as devotees sit in meditative silence. Photography is normally not allowed inside the inner sanctum. Jasper Johal was provided with special permission to allow him access.
Picture above shows the scale and size of the 17x20 inch print.
